چکیده

coccus suspension with immune serum at 1,800 r.p.m. for 10 minutes, and obtained very encouraging results. Mayer and Dowling (1945) used a centrifugal method for the detection of agglutinins against meningococci and obtained highly specific results. Feldman (1946) used a similar method in the identification of cultures, specially those of the dysentery group. The present paper gives the results observed in the use of a centrifugal method for the detection of B. typhosus agglutinins in 388 samples of human sera. These samples were those received for the standard agglutination test for typhoid from hospitals.

Development of a Latex Agglutination Method for Diagnosis of Rotavirus Infections

Background: Rotavirus is a major cause of morbidity and mortality among children with gastroenteritis. Since the discovery of rotaviruses, several techniques have been used for their laboratory diagnosis; those included Electron Microscopy (EM) and enzyme immunoassay. These methods, however, are expensive and not readily available everywhere. We have developed a technique which can be used for ...

Preparation and evaluation of latex agglutination technique for diagnosis and seroepidemiological studies of visceral leishmaniasis

in this study which has been carried out from 1996 until 1997 soluble latex agglutination antigen was prepared from L, donovani,sudan(s-1) by culturing in special media, harvesting, and later solubilizing by freezing and thawing.the antigen were futher prepared by high speed centrifugation.after measurement of the protein (lowry method) concentration of the antigen was set at 2.2 mg/ml,the antige...

Enhanced-latex-agglutination assay for C-reactive protein in serum, with use of a centrifugal analyzer.

This is an improved assay of C-reactive protein in serum, for use with the Baker "Encore" centrifugal analyzer. Features of this assay include: 250-specimen throughput per hour, within-batch CV 2.2%, between-batch CV 2.7%, no antigen-excess problems up to 1000 mg/L, negligible interference from rheumatoid factor, and good correlation (r = 0.99) with radial immunodiffusion. The method is inexpen...

A Comparative Evaluation of ELISA, PCR, and Serum Agglutination Tests For Diagnosis of Brucella Using Human Serum

Background & Objective: Since the symptoms of Brucellosis are often atypical and nonspecific, using clinical signs alone to diagnose brucellosis is not advised; therefore, the diagnosis relies predominantly on laboratory testing. Currently, molecular, serological, and microbiological methods are used for diagnosis of this disease. In this study we examined ELI...

Performance of Latex Agglutination Test (KAtex) In Diagnosis of Visceral Leishmaniasis in Iran

Background: Visceral leishmaniasis (VL) is an endemic disease in some parts of Iran. Many techniques have been used for diagnosis of VL, among which the urine based la-tex agglutination test (KAtex) is a promising one. Objective: To compare three diag-nostic tests of VL including KAtex, ELISA and Direct Agglutination Test (DAT) in VL patients and healthy controls in the south west of Iran. Meth...
